About us
We are a translation agency in London with over 20 years of experience in the provision of legal translation services to law firms. We are a member of the ATC and specialise in the languages of the Middle East, including Farsi, Arabic, and Turkish.
We are a full member of the UK Association of Translation Companies (ATC), with individual members of our team registered with the Chartered Institute of Linguists (CIoL) and/or the Institute of Translation and Interpreting (ITI). Giraffe Translations is a trading name of Giraffe London Limited, a company registered in England in 2003 under the number 04719201. Our VAT registration number is GB 843 4354 29. Our registered address is 8b Accommodation Road, London NW11 8ED.
The company is directed by Dr Mehran Taghvaipour who is a Chartered Linguist. He has been a member of the CIoL since 1999 and holds a BA degree in English Literature (Tehran), an MA degree in English Language Teaching (Tehran) and a PhD in Computational Linguistics (Essex). Mehran has been working as a Farsi translator in London since 1998 and has since held various managerial positions in London-based practices. He specialises in legal translation and teaches DPSI - Legal in collaboration with Middlesex University in London. He personally does or supervises all Farsi translation projects at Giraffe.
In addition to legal translation, Mehran does literary translation as well and has so far translated a handful of short stories, published in the collection Perceived Differently and a novel entitled From the Devil, Learned and Burned.
