We are a translation agency in London with over 20 years of experience in legal translation. We specialise in the languages of the Middle East, including Farsi, Arabic, Kurdish, Hebrew, Turkish, Urdu, Dari, and Pashto- with a particular focus on Farsi. As a full member of the Association of Translation Companies (ATC), and with a team accredited by the Chartered Institute of Linguists (CIoL) and/or the Institute of Translation and Interpreting (ITI), we provide certified translations of the highest quality, recognised and accepted by all UK authorities.
Giraffe Translations is a trading name of Giraffe London Limited, a company registered in England in 2003 under the number 04719201. Our VAT registration number is GB 843 4354 29. Our registered address is 8b Accommodation Road, London NW11 8ED.
We pride ourselves on our quality, accuracy and professionalism. The company is directed by Dr Mehran Taghvaipour who is a Chartered Linguist. He has been a member of the CIoL since 1999 and holds a PhD in Computational Linguistics (University of Essex), an MA degree in English Language Teaching (ATU, Tehran) and a BA degree in English Literature (SBU, Tehran). Mehran is a native speaker of Farsi and has been working as a Farsi translator in London since he moved to the UK in 1998. He has since held various managerial positions in London-based practices and specialises in legal translation. He occasionally teaches DPSI - Legal in collaboration with Middlesex University in London. Mehran personally does or supervises all Farsi translations at Giraffe Translations.
In addition to legal translation, Mehran does literary translation as well and has so far translated a handful of short stories, published in the collection Perceived Differently and a novel entitled From the Devil, Learned and Burned.
